Waves-Lai

Lai is a French form and has the following features:

1. 9 line, one stanza
2. This style follows the following rhyme scheme: a a b a a b a a b 
3. All a lines have 5 syllables; all b lines have 2 syllables.
   Here’s my poem in Lai style:

   The frothy frills fall
   Swirl in ocean’s ball
   With grace.
   Tuned to nature’s call
   Gifted with sheer gall
   They race.
   Gray and gold can’t stall
   Climb tenacious wall,
   Earn praise.
